T2 Error Code: Invalid Web Access Code (WAC)

A quick guide explaining how to fix the T2 error code 2025_2 by generating or obtaining a valid Web Access Code to successfully file with the Canada Revenue Agency.

If you see the message: “You have entered an invalid Web access code. Please verify the access code and re-enter it."

it means the Web Access Code (WAC) entered for your T2 corporate tax return is incorrect or has expired.

How to Generate a WAC Code

If you are filing your corporate tax return through CloudTax, you can generate your WAC code directly within the platform.

The CloudTax WAC Generator creates the authorization required for electronic filing. Once the code is successfully entered, your return can be submitted directly to the Canada Revenue Agency.

What If the WAC Generator Does Not Work?

In some cases, the generated WAC may still trigger an error.

The fastest solution is to contact the CRA Business Enquiries line at the Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-5525. A CRA agent can typically generate a valid WAC code for you within a few minutes.

Be prepared to confirm:

  • Business Number (BN)

  • Corporation name

  • Filing year

Once the new WAC is issued, you can return to CloudTax and submit your T2 return without issues.

Alternative for Accountants and Tax Preparers

If you are an accountant, tax preparer, or part of an accounting firm, you likely have an EFILE number issued by the CRA.

In this case, you can use your EFILE credentials instead of a WAC.
