1. General Billing & Payment Terms
CloudTax accepts payments via Credit Card, Email Money Transfer (EMT), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), and other approved methods.
All payments are securely processed through Stripe, and CloudTax does not store any credit card information.
CloudTax is SOC 2 Certified, ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards.
Additional processing fees may apply for credit card payments exceeding $300.
2. Refund Policy by Service Type
A. CloudTax DIY (Pay-What-You-Want Model)
Payments for DIY tax filing through CloudTax's Pay-What-You-Want model are final and non-refundable.
If an incorrect charge occurs (e.g., duplicate payment), users may request a refund within 7 days at [email protected].
B. CloudTax Plus (Premium DIY Service)
All payments for CloudTax Plus are non-refundable.
If a technical issue prevents access, refund eligibility will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
C. CloudTax "Review and File" Service
Refunds are not available once a tax expert has started the review process.
If a user fails to submit their documents within 30 days of purchase, they may request a 50% refund.
D. CloudTax "Done-for-You" Service
Once a tax expert begins preparing a return, no refunds will be issued.
If the service is canceled before an expert is assigned, a 50% refund may be granted if requested within 7 days of purchase.
E. CloudTax EFILE for Tax Preparers (Annual & Lifetime Licenses)
Annual Subscription:
Refunds are only available if requested within 7 days of purchase and the license has not been activated (i.e., no returns filed).
Once a return has been filed, the subscription is non-refundable.
Lifetime License:
Lifetime licenses are non-refundable unless an incorrect charge occurs.
F. Audit Protection Service
Non-refundable as it is activated immediately upon purchase.
3. CloudTax Corporate Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping, and Payroll Services
For clients engaging CloudTax for corporate tax filing, bookkeeping, and payroll services, the following terms apply:
Clients must pay 50% of the total service fee upfront along with a signed retainer agreement.
Payments may be made via Email Money Transfer (EMT) or Credit Card.
Additional credit card processing fees may apply for transactions exceeding $300.
Once work has commenced, no refunds will be issued for completed services.
If a client terminates services before completion, any remaining balance may still be due based on the work performed.
4. CloudTax API & Enterprise Billing Terms
CloudTax API partners typically pay via EMT, EFT, or other approved methods.
Net 15 payment terms apply unless otherwise agreed upon in the partnership agreement.
Refunds for CloudTax API services are handled case by case, based on the terms in the agreement with the client.
5. 1:1 Tax Consultation Calls (Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy)
We value both your time and our tax experts' time. Please review our policy on cancellation and rescheduling of tax consultation calls:
Rescheduling: You may reschedule your appointment at no additional cost if done at least 24 hours in advance.
Late Cancellation (Less than 24 Hours Before Appointment): If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full session fee and will need to book a new appointment.
Missed Appointments (No-Show): If you do not attend your scheduled call and fail to notify us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged in full with no refund or credit.
Technical Issues on Our End: If CloudTax experiences technical difficulties that prevent your session from taking place, we will offer a full refund or reschedule at no charge.
6. Chargeback & Dispute Policy
Users are encouraged to contact CloudTax support first before initiating a chargeback or dispute with their bank.
Any account associated with an unauthorized chargeback may be suspended or restricted from future use of CloudTax services.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund (if eligible), please contact [email protected] with the following details:
Your name and email used for the purchase.
The service purchased and the reason for your refund request.
Any supporting documents (if applicable).
Refund requests will be reviewed within 5-7 business days, and eligible refunds will be issued via the original payment method.

By using CloudTax services, you agree to this policy and acknowledge that most CloudTax services are non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise.
