At CloudTax, most tax returns are filed electronically through NETFILE or EFILE.
However, some returns cannot be submitted electronically due to CRA restrictions.
When your return must be paper filed, additional steps are required — and that’s where our Printing and Admin Fee comes in.
Here’s why:
We ensure your return is mailed to the correct CRA tax centre, based on your location and the type of return.
We securely prepare, print, organize, and package your documents, following CRA mailing requirements.
We track the mailing process and update your client file for compliance purposes.
We allocate time from our administrative team to carefully handle and manage the mailing.
All of these steps require supplies, postage costs, and staff time.

If you are required to paper file, we offer flexible choices depending on how you'd like to proceed:
1. Mail It Yourself (No Printing Charge)
If you book a call with us, we can send you a finalized PDF of your return.
You can print, sign, and mail it yourself at your convenience.
2. Have Us Print and Mail It for You (Additional Fee Applies)
Choose from the following mailing options:

Costs include printing, supplies, postage, and administrative handling.
Important:
If your return includes filing for Quebec, there is an additional $20 charge. This is because we must print and mail your return separately to both Revenu Québec and the CRA, following the correct provincial and federal mailing procedures.
If an additional return is included (for example, a spouse’s return) and both returns are being mailed to the same CRA tax centre, an additional $20 printing and handling fee per return will apply.
Large Return Packages: If a tax return package exceeds 20 pages, an additional printing surcharge of $10 will apply due to higher paper, ink, and handling costs.
While CloudTax assists in preparing and mailing your paper-filed return, we are not responsible for the CRA or Revenu Québec’s processing timelines or outcomes.
After your return is mailed, it is your responsibility to follow up directly with CRA or Revenu Québec regarding the status of your filing.
Mailing Schedule & Same-Day Requests
Our team processes and mails paper returns on scheduled mailing days. This allows us to prepare packages, verify documents, and ensure everything is sent correctly to the appropriate CRA tax centre.
If you require your return to be mailed the same day, a $20 last-minute processing fee will apply.
Same-day mailing requests must:
Be submitted before 5:00 PM EST
Be approved by the CloudTax admin team
Be confirmed before the return can be processed for same-day mailing
If the request is received after 5:00 PM EST or cannot be approved in time, the return will be mailed on the next scheduled mailing day.
Exception: On the final CRA filing deadline (e.g., April 30), our team will make every reasonable effort to ensure paper returns submitted that day are mailed before the filing deadline.
