Online Application:
Gather and digitize all required documents, such as:
Birth certificate (if born in Canada)
Permanent Resident card or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (if not born in Canada)
Submit your application through the Service Canada SIN Application Portal
Service Canada will process your application and mail a response
Urgent Requests:
If you need your SIN urgently, visit a Service Canada Centre in person with your documents
Find Your SIN
If you’ve already been issued a SIN but don’t remember it:
Look for your SIN confirmation letter
Check your previous tax documents, such as your Notice of Assessment or T4 slip, where your SIN is usually listed
Contact Service Canada for assistance. You’ll need to verify your identity by providing:
Full name
Date of birth
Address
A piece of government-issued ID
