If a team member signs into CloudTax EFILE and cannot see any client returns, this is expected behavior and not an error.
Why This Happens
By default, team members do not have access to all clients or returns in CloudTax EFILE. This is a built-in permission feature designed to protect client data and limit access only to the people who need it.
How to Grant a Team Member Access to a Return
To give another team member access:
Go to the Clients page
Open the specific client profile
Assign the client to the other team member
Once assigned, that team member will be able to see and work on the client’s return.
Why This Is a Good Thing
Protects sensitive client information
Prevents accidental changes by unauthorized users
Gives firms better control over who can access which files
Final Note
If a team member cannot see returns, it simply means the client has not been assigned to them yet. Assigning the client will immediately grant access, with no additional setup required.
