“The Alberta Corporate Account Number does not exist on Tax and Revenue Administration's database. Please verify account number on AT1 Line 034.”

Why This Happens

This issue typically occurs when:

  • The Corporate Account Number entered does not match Alberta records

  • The number is typed incorrectly or incomplete

  • You are using the wrong identifier (e.g., Business Number instead of Corporate Account Number)

  • Your corporation is not yet registered or activated in Alberta’s system

The validation is done against records from Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration.

How to Fix It

Step 1: Locate the Correct Corporate Account Number

Find your Corporate Access Number / Corporate Account Number from:

  • Articles of Incorporation (Alberta)

  • Alberta corporate registration documents

  • Correspondence from Alberta Corporate Registry

Step 2: Verify the Number in Your Return

In CloudTax:

  1. Open your corporate tax return

  2. Go to the Alberta section (AT1)

  3. Locate Line 034 (Corporate Account Number)

  4. Re-enter the number exactly as shown on your official documents

Step 3: Save and Re-submit

  • Click Next to save your changes

  • Submit your return again
