When preparing tax returns, it's common to make changes after a T183 form has already been sent for signature. Whether your client has signed the form or it's still pending, any modifications to the return mean that a new T183 is required.

A pending T183 request won't update automatically with any changes—you'll need to trigger a new request.vYou must manually trigger the request to ensure the correct version is sent. In this post, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to resend an updated T183 efficiently.

How to Resend an Updated T183 Request

If you've made changes to a client's tax return and need to resend the T183 form, follow these steps:

1. Select a Different Delivery Method

Since the system does not provide a direct "resend" button, you need to trigger the request manually. To do this:

  • Navigate to the T183 signature request section.

  • Select a different delivery method from the one you originally used (e.g., if you initially sent it via email, choose "paper" instead).

2. Reapply the Original Delivery Method

Once you’ve selected the alternate method, immediately switch back to your preferred option (e.g., email). This will refresh the request and send the newest version of the T183 form to your client.

3. Client will be Automatically Notified

Your client will automatically receive a notification when the updated T183 is sent.

Happy filing! 🚀
